Concept art is usually made for the basis of new ideas for example ; quick sketches and rough drawings of an idea. These sketches would usually be used to the inspire and encourage people to expand on your ideas    and be used as a platform for developers. exaggerated

Concept art has a huge variety of different styles and genres, scaling from landscapes to futuristic and many others, concept also has my styles such as cartoon, anime, fantasy and realistic themes and various others. Concept art is mainly used for gaming as it's a great way to get down ideas on to paper and expand on your ideas and form basic ideas into something of potential e.g landscapes, creatures, armour etc. Concept can also be used for posters, comic books, animation and films. Concept art is used for every movie / game ever made as without it there wouldn't be any real structure incorporated.

Concept art has many different forms but the one style that most appeals to me is the art of Landscapes and the shear detail and time involved into making these picture really appeals to me. I have done a lot of research into artists that specialise in landscape development but the two that really caught my eye are Dylan cole and Goran Bukvic.

Here is a few examples of what kind of style Dylan Cole is based around, his genre is mainly landscape and science fiction mixed together which i am very interested in, as every building and detail is something original and new. Due to the fact he incorporates science fiction in his concept art requires alot of detail and is a perfect example of what can be drawn and imagined and also like the way the colours blend and combined together well and give a very impressive spire.

Dylan cole has worked on many different comics, movies and video games and has had many leading roles in high end films such 'Tron Legacy' 'Avatar' and 'The chronicles of Riddick' which were all very much renowned for there vast and wild landscapes that have stepped up the game for directors / artists that consider doing mass landscapes and various other 'worlds'.

Goran Bukvic:

Here are a few examples of Goran Bukvics work he as Dylan Cole has a very similar style of Landscapes with a hint of futuristic detail incorporated. Goran Bukvic style i noticed is he the way he uses a diverse amount of colours in each of his pictures and each picture has a separate
feel to it. Such as the top picture gives a mood of fire and death where as the bottom picture has a more mellow, quiet lonely feel towards it. The fact that each picture gives different feels and story's about them  has made Goran to me stick out more than other concept artists.
